In airplanes, I could not properly hear speech in movies with my laptop and earphones. This device significantly amplifies the sound in a compact, lightweight (under an ounce with battery) device. I have not yet tried it on a plane, but it produces much louder sound so it should be fine.

I bought this to use with my BB Pearl streaming Pandora while operating equipment. Have yet to use it in a noisy environment, but with trying it around the house it gives a noticeable increase in volume.

I bought this item to bolster a Sennheiser headset that my iPod Touch couldn't quite handle. The sound difference is day and night. The highs are clear without being shrill, the mids are as full as they could be, and the low end thumps without rumbling or clipping.
It's nice that these run off of a AAA rather than being rechargeable. I would rather dump a new battery in than wait for a recharge any day. Overall, I'm in love.

I cant say enough about this little gadget. I am a music afficionado and I wasnt getting the volume level that I require to listen to my library of over 15,000 tracks on my Dell studio Hybrid PC. I have old Logitech speakers which sound great when played however when I use the headphones while plugged into the headphone input on the Logitech speaker the volume level was waay below acceptable. After DJ'ing for several years Im sure I have some hearing loss as well. This little amp works miracles! Not just by increasing volume level by 100% but a rich, fuller un-distorted sound through my sennheiser earphones. I paid roughly $10 total - product and shipping. Best $10 investment ever!

I bought this to help amplify the sound I got listening to my TV with headphones and it has done a great job with that. It makes the sound out of my headphones much richer and louder when plugged into my TV.
